The main aims of the sponsored nestbox scheme in Treswell Wood were conservation, scientific investigation and increasing public interest and involvement in the wood. The sponsored scheme ended in 1994 but nestboxes remain in the wood and events in them continue to be recorded. Information about their use has been included in Twitter since 1995.
